Humidifiers
Why Should You Humidify Your Home?
Proper humidity levels in your home give your family added comfort as it eases itchy dry skin, scratchy throats and dry noses. It also reduces annoying static electricity, dried and cracked furniture and wood trim, and wilting houseplants. Humidified air also feels warmer, allowing you to turn down your thermostat a few degrees and save energy costs while remaining comfortable.
Aprilaire 700
Big humidification performance to match the biggest homes: the Model 700A. The Aprilaire Model 700A Whole-House Humidifier features truly automatic control, so there's never a need to manually control the humidifier—though it can be installed in manual mode, if desired.
Complementing any central heating and cooling system, the 700A utilizes an outdoor temperature sensor for monitoring even the slightest changes in outdoor temperature. It delivers up to 50% more moisture in comparison to competitive units and has an evaporation capacity of 0.75 gallons per hour—among the highest capacity humidifiers sold. Your Aprilaire will easily humidify a tightly-constructed home up to 4,200 square feet in size.
General Operating Principle
Evaporation takes place as the heated air passes through the moisture-laden evaporator pad. The pad is moistened by water metered through a solenoid valve and distributed over the pad by a distributor trough at the top of the humidifier. Water that is not evaporated drains from the bottom of the humidifier carrying off troublesome minerals. Humidified air is then returned to the heating system to enter the living area.
